This course is currently scheduled on Tuesday with day classes and Wednesday with evening classes. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Knowledge assessments: short answer, research tasks, multiple-choice questions, assignments
Skills assessments: projects, case studies
Practical skills assessments: demonstrations under observation
Simulated workplace projects: scenario-based problem solving
Submission of a logbook
Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.
It is a requirement of this course that you complete 48 service periods (shifts).
Of these 48 service periods, a minimum of 18 of these will be completed in a simulated industry environment with customers at your TAFE campus. The remaining service periods will need to be completed in industry, either in paid or voluntary employment.
You will be responsible for arranging these additional service periods. Our team can offer support and guidance to assist you.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 25 units of competency, including 20 core and 5 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
